This is Sissy, a 4 1/2 year old newly retired racer. She is pure, shiny black, with a snow white belly and two paws that are tipped in white. Sissy has a sprinkle of salt and pepper across the bridge of her nose and lower face, which makes her unique. She is beautiful! Although on the larger side at 70 lbs, she is tall and long. Sissy is graceful, extremely sweet, gentle and a quiet little soul. She is being fostered with 5 other dogs, including other greyhounds, a lab, and a mini dachshund. Sissy looks to them for guidance. Due to her gentle nature and shyness, a busy, loud household may not be for her. She is still adjusting to retired life. She has learned to do well with wood and tile floors, although occasionally she forgets how slick they are! We are working on stairs and getting in and out of a car. Sissy took a awhile to come out of her shell, and her foster family is enjoying watching her blossom and learn to trust. She walks excellent on a leash and really enjoys being outside, especially in the snow! She is very curious, but listens extremely well. She does not chew on anything, nor independently explore. She prefers to be right by her trusted companion's side and watches intently what they are doing and with curiosity. Sissy has never had an accident and alerts to be let outside by standing by the door and pacing. She is very cuddly and loves to be close to people she trusts, to receive hugs, belly rubs and kisses. She has one floppy ear and it bounces when she trots or prances...just adorable! She is still learning about toys and how to play, and is still quite shy when trying to engage in playing with the group. She has discovered treats, and comes prancing when she hears the package opening...the one ear flopping the whole way! Sissy does excellent in her crate and will even crate herself when she wants a nap or downtime. She needs a little encouragement at bedtime, but remains quiet and peaceful once inside. She adores her big, soft blanket and dog bed, and will stay on one all day if someone let her. She gets a huge kick out of T.V, and currently enjoys watching American Idol with her foster family! She has never barked, even when the other foster siblings are singing their hearts out! If she sounds like she might be a good fit for you or your family, please come meet her at one of our meet and greets!
