Thumper

Thumper is a magnificent greyhound weighing in at 80 lbs. He is a big boy with absolute stunning looks. Not only is he good looking, he also has a heart of gold. Thumper crates without a problem, is well mannered on the leash and knows his basic obedience commands. He does excellent with all floors and stairs. He loves to romp in the yard, especially in the snow and enjoys naps on his dog pillow afterwards. Thumper loves to cuddle and is always up for playing with his foster family. He is a good eater and would do anything for treats. He lives currently with 5 other dogs and fits wonderfully in this pack.

We have Thumper listed as special needs, because he is very fearful of his feet being touched. In his former life as a racer, before he came into foster care with American Greyhound he must have had a traumatic experience involving his feet. His foster family is working in close conjunction with a dog behaviorist to help Thumper overcome this fear. In the few weeks he has been with his foster family he has made remarkable progress.

Thumper should be placed with a family that are experienced dog owners and without small children.

He is a very easy going and happy dog. All he needs is someone willing to help him gain trust and love him unconditionally.
