Niko found a great home with Rock & Esther Sutton

Niko was a great learner in the SCAL program and is doing very well with his commands. He enjoys going for a walk and I've been able to walk him while pushing a stroller. Niko seems to enjoy to have fun with the rest of our family and on his own. He is fostered with an 11 year old male English Springer Spaniel, a 4-1/2 year old female Greyhound and a (almost) 1 year old baby. Niko has mastered our laminate floors along with the stairs. Whenever Niko is in a playful mood he'll either find a toy and entertain himself or he'll start to wrestle...himself, which is quite entertaining! American Greyhound has partnered with "2nd Chance at Life", a prison foster program for retired racing greyhounds.

2nd Chance at Life (SCAL) places retired racers, directly off the track, into their prison foster program for obedience training and socialization.  They receive ten weeks of training from two inmate caretakers and leave as good canine citizens.

The Adoption Fee for a 2nd Chance at Life dog is $300 which helps support this program
