Dashing Dakota has made a daring escape from Coldwater prison. This extremely handsome ex-con is a loving, gentle and very personable brindle boy. Dakota loves stuffed toys and a soft comfy cushion. He has a healthy appetite and will almost do cartwheels for a treat.  Dakota was taught some basic commands and will sit, looking at you with very sad eyes to try and get extra treats. He also learned how to lay down, heel and come. He moans with delight when given ear rubs and his tail is nonstop wagging when you call his name. He currently lives with other greyhounds and cats. Come and meet Dakota. Look into his eyes and fall in love.

American Greyhound has partnered with "2nd Chance at Life", a prison foster program for retired racing greyhounds.

2nd Chance at Life (SCAL) places retired racers, directly off the track, into their prison foster program for obedience training and socialization.  They receive ten weeks of training from two inmate caretakers and leave as good canine citizens.

The Adoption Fee for a 2nd Chance at Life dog is $300 which helps support this program
