Conway – 1621 Adoption Pending

Kennel Name: Conway
Registered Name: Unknown
male
DOB: 4/15
likely cat/mall animal tolerant
AG # 1621

Conway is a super handsome, relatively young guy who made the trip from an Arkansas Greyhound farm to join American Greyhound on June 11, 2016. Since he came directly from a farm, he never saw the track or embarked on a racing career. He is a sweet guy who is still learning about new sights and sounds as he explores and becomes more familiar with city life. He likes to be a part of the pack in his foster home and after a week, is doing very well in his interactions with the kitty. He is doing well with the small terrier as well although still gets a bit intrigued with jumping and more active movements the little crew members can make. He enjoys his crate, and even waits patiently for meal time inside. He is a relatively laid back guy for a youngin’ and enjoys being a part of the pack – especially when it comes to walks. He is still learning but is doing great at walking right by your side. In case you are wondering, too, yes, I do have to say he makes me think of Conway Twitty every time I say his name. Interestingly, our adorable Conway does hail from Arkansas, has a bit of a crooning voice to him and has a bit of country flair to him as he is a bit horse-like. This guy seems happy to cuddle with other dogs, as well as his foster mom too! Won’t you consider welcoming Conway into your family? Feel free to check out more pictures of him at Greyt Times In CU on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/greyttimesinCU/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel!!

Oliver – 1927

Oliver – 1927

Kennel Name: Oliver
Registered Name: Kiowa Occupied
male
DOB: 12/29/12
not cat/small animal tolerant
AG # 1945

Oliver recently came into retirement and is enjoying every second of it. He’s very laid back and will lounge out ANYWHERE. He handles stairs and wood floors very well, and does well being in his crate for 6-8 hours during the day. He also has tons of personality and is still very playful due to being just 2 years old. He will run and loves having a big yard and loves any toy with squeakers in them. He should be named shadow because he will follow you anywhere you go and give you constant love at any moment he gets. He walks very well on a leash and will walk multiple times a day if you take him. If Oliver sounds like the boy for you, contact our adoption coordinators!

Dracula – 1945 Adoption Pending

Dracula – 1945 Adoption Pending

Kennel Name: Dracula

Registered Name: Mega Dracula

male

DOB: 12/29/12

likely cat/small animal tolerant

AG # 1945

Dracula came to AG in the middle of June from Arkansas. He takes a bit to warm up and trust people, but once he trusts you, he is your best friend. Drac likes to hang out where his people are and seems to prefer women to men. He came with good house manners and although he seems to be hungry most of the time, has never helped himself or counter-surfed for goodies. Drac is a red brindle with a gorgeous dark muzzle set off by caramel colored eyes. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs at his foster home and the dogs are teaching him all about retirement. Drac loves to play with soft squishy toys and loves a good romp around the yard. He is not afraid of slippery floors and really seems eager to please. Dracula has been diagnosed with a genetic degenerative vision problem. His vision is already greatly impaired and he will likely be completely blind within 1-2 years. Our veterinarian has recommended that Dracula live with another dog to help him navigate his new home and keep stairs to a minimum. If you have a soft in your heart and home for this sweet special needs boy with a heart of gold, please contact our adoption coordinators.

Cheesy – 1941Adoption Pending

Kennel Name: Cheesy

Registered Name: n/a

female

DOB: TBA

likely cat/small animal tolerant

AG # 1941

Cheesy is a very sweet and tentative girl. She is also super tiny and very compact in size! She’s doing very well and has learned to go up and down the steps, gets along with all sizes of dogs and cats, and is generally a very cute and fun girl to have around. Cheesy does well in her crate when her foster mom leaves for work and has had no accidents. She’ll come in and out of it at will if the door is open. Cheesy is a “smiler” and will occasionally show you a very toothy ‘grin’ when she’s happy, which is a lot of the time. Cheesy does very well when around the house, but is still learning how to walk on a leash, however with lots of cheese she’s happy to do anything for you! Cheesy can’t wait to say “CHEESE” for her adoption photo! Will you be in it with her? She’ll be waiting for you to fill out that adoption application for her!

Hank – 1938

Hank – 1938

Kennel Name: Hank

Registered Name: n/a

male

DOB: TBA

not likely cat/small animal tolerant

AG # 1938

Meet Hank! Hank is a kiss-giving, friend to everyone, kind of guy. He is a young boy, and full of energy. Also, he’s quite tall! A perfect day for Hank includes going for a walk (a Hank hike), playing tug of war (he loves toys), and eating treats (he sometimes needs correcting that the trash is not where he can find treats, but he’s doing much better!). Hank prefers not to share his home with cats or small dogs, but enjoys the company of other big dogs. Hank surprises his foster fam everyday with how quickly he can learn. He’s becoming a pro on the leash and is getting better every day about going into his crate without resistance (treats help!). If your family wants a best friend to run and play with, you might be the perfect match for sweet, lovable Hank!

DOB: TBA

likely cat/small animal tolerant

AG # 1937

My name is Grapevine and I am just a little over a year old. I am a sweet and gentle girl who can be shy at first but I warm up to new people quickly! Although I am young, my foster mom was surprised at how calm I am and she was very impressed with how great I am on the leash and with stairs! I currently share my house with 5 parrots. I don’t bother them and they don’t bother me. I also appear to be tolerant of other dogs as well as kids. I sleep very well in my crate and I love to carry my toys around the house with me. My favorite part about retirement so far has been getting lots of snuggles and going for nice leisurely walks. I am so excited to find my forever home! Could it be with you?

Fedora – 1944

Fedora – 1944

Kennel Name: Fedora

Registered Name: PTL Fedora

female

DOB: 5/28/14

cat/small animal tolerance TBA

AG # 1944

Fedora is a happy girl who loves food, attention, and walks. Her leash manners have improved greatly, with little to no pulling. She will soak up as much attention as someone is willing to give her. Fedora hasn’t shown much of a reaction to loud noises such as fireworks and vacuum cleaners while inside the house. There have been no accidents in the house. Fedora is a potential counter surfer, but is easily verbally corrected with a firm ‘no’. She loves to play with toys, whether the squeaker works or not. Fedora gets along with her foster brother very well. Fedora hasn’t met other dogs, cats, or small children. She accepts hugs. She is great meeting new people, but may need another dog to hang out with. She crates well but whines unless she has a canine friend nearby. If Fedora sounds like the girl for you, contact our adoption coodinators.

Ford – 1929

Kennel Name: Ford

Registered Name: DKC Ford

male

DOB: 10/30/13

not cat/small animal tolerant

AG # 1929

My name is Ford, and I am loving retirement. I ran my last race in April, but I’m living in my foster home without any problems. I love squeaky toys. I love waking up in the morning to a new day, and I’m always energetic, happy, and ready to go. Even though I’ve never been in a house before, I haven’t had a single accident. I am very smart – I even know what “no!” means – but I’m still working on other tricks. I had some problems going up the stairs, but I’m not scared of them anymore. I am a sweet boy, and I will lay my head in your lap and love you as long as you want me to. I eat fast, and I really love food! I’m very good at playing fetch. I’ll chase a squeaky rubber ball and bring it back to you again and again. I’m really fun with humans and other large dogs. I do love my foster greyhound brother, but I would be happiest in a home without small dogs or cats. I can get a little unfocused when I’m out walking and see other dogs, but otherwise, I walk well, and I do my business quickly. My foster family loves me very much, and they know that I’m going to be a great dog for my forever family. Would you like to meet me?
