Millie – 1727 Adoption Pending

Kennel Name: Millie
Registered Name: Flying Middleton
female
DOB: 10/2/11
likely cat/small animal tolerant
AG # 1726

Millie has transformed so much since coming to us. Her handlers at TGIE were right, she just needed more time to blossom! From timid and shy to curious and loving, she is taking advantage of retirement life. Millie enjoys playing and rolling around in the snow. She would spend all day outside if she could. Stuffed animals and toy hoarding are amongst her favorite things, too. Millie is quiet, well mannered and is always following her foster (human) sisters around. Millie executes her commands with ease and is always proud to show them off when she thinks food is involved. She has become quite attached to her foster greyhound brother, John. From time to time Millie and John find themselves in a bit of hot water, always involving food. Millie has beautiful markings and her coat is incredibly soft. Millie’s foster parents would say she is a gentle dog with a heart of gold. They are very impressed with her nurturing nature and how much she enjoys their children. She is very fond of her crate as well, often choosing to relax there rather than a dog bed! If Millie sounds like the girl for you, contact our adoption coordinators.

Hi, my name is M&M. I’ve been on the website for quite a while. The reason being, I had an accident in the last 2 weeks of my TGIE prison program. I was having trouble walking so I left the program and moved in with my foster family.

I’m still on a medical hold but I thought I would tell you about my story. It was originally thought that I had a stroke and I received treatment for a stroke. After about a week and a half, I was not improving so I went back and spent a few days with the doctors and staff at McAfee Animal Hospital. During my time at McAfee’s, I was able to be observed and the doctors came up with a new game plan.

The doctors determined that I didn’t have a stroke but an issue with my back. They believe that it’s a problem with one of my discs, maybe a bulging disc or slipped disc. I was given different medications and was put on ‘kennel rest’. My foster mom even got an extra kennel for me so I could send time with everyone no matter what room we were in. Over the next few weeks, I started to feel better. I went to some meet and greets and loved meeting so many different people and dogs. However in October, I had a set back and now I’m recuperating for a little while longer.

Once am able to be adopted, I hope I find a family who will understand the unique situation that has happened to me. My foster mom says I have a great personality, that I’m a “Chow” hound (I do love my food!) and she sometimes calls me “Emmie”. I get along well with my foster brothers (greyhounds) and my foster home is quiet and relaxing. I think I would ideally excel in a forever home that is laid back like my foster home.

Thanks for looking at my profile and considering me or any of the other greyhounds as a forever member of your family. If you have any questions about any of the adoptable greyhounds, please contact our adoption coordinators.

male
DOB: 8/13/12
not likely cat/small animal tolerant
AG # 1796

My name is Boyd! I’m a very happy 3 year old boy who loves life and loves to be around my foster family! My foster family says I’m an “attention snob” because I always want to be pet, whether they are relaxing and watching tv or walking around the house doing chores. My “puppy” antics come out sometimes and I like to steal my foster dad’s socks. I think it’s funny!  I do very well in a crate while they are gone during the day for work, and would do well in a home with or without other dogs. I would be happiest in a home without cats or small dogs. I have discovered dog toys and love them! My foster brother and I sometimes want the same toy, but we always play nice.  My foster mom tells me I’m a good boy since I don’t growl at other dogs around toys. I also have discovered “walks!” They are the best!! I do great on the leash and love sniffing around the neighborhood. If I sound like a fun guy you’d want in your home, contact the adoption coordinators today!

DOB: 9/18/13
likely cat/small animal tolerant
AG # 1801

Hi! My name is Bee. I am a little peanut of a girl and I love curling up in a ball and snoozing the day away. My foster parents think I’m just the cutest little girl ever! With some trust gained, I have learned that getting pets is pretty great and also learned it’s ok to be in a crate while they are gone at work each day. I’m not quite comfortable enough yet to take treats from them, but I’m sure I’ll get there with some time and patience. The other greyhounds in my foster home help me build up my confidence! My wish in my forever home is that there will be another dog around to show me guidance. New noises and sudden movements startle me, but with some reassurance, I do just fine. I am also a secret toy player; I won’t play with them if my humans are around, but I love the squeakers! If you’re interested in adopting me, and giving me the love and patience I need, please contact our adoption coordinators!

He crates well once he gets settled.  Ishmahl follows his people and is ready to lean in for a snuggle any chance he gets! If you’d like to meet Ishmahl, contact one of our adoption coordinators.

Sis – 1800 Adoption Pending

Sis – 1800 Adoption Pending

Kennel Name: Sis
Registered Name: Samboya’s Sis
female
DOB: 10/10/13
likely cat/small animal tolerant
AG # 1800

Sis is well on her way to becoming a great companion. She has mastered stairs, glass and mirrors and is living quietly with a cat and three other dogs. She is quite shy, even a little afraid of the dark (she sleeps with a night light currently); but a little patient encouragement helps her along when she goes out at night. Sis loves to receive and give affection and to play with others. A favorite pastime is finding large sticks in the yard and proudly strutting around the yard with them. She is very curious and is still learning about staying off of counters and out of closets. She is a beautiful dog, and gets lots of compliments wherever she goes. Sis sometimes needs a little help with her crate; but she has made great strides since coming off the track. If she sounds like the sweetheart you are wanting to welcome into your home and heart, contact us today!

Oliver – 1797 Adoption Pending

Oliver – 1797 Adoption Pending

Kennel Name: Oliver
Registered Name: Over Drive
male
DOB: 11/27/11
not likely cat/small animal tolerant
AG # 1797

Oliver came into foster care Oct. 24th. Since being in a foster home, his foster family has noticed he is one chill, cool boy! He would rather lay around on a dog bed than play tug of war with his foster grey brother, who always begs all the dogs to play with him. He is a gentle giant, that will be around 80-85 lbs once he puts on a few pounds. He’s quickly learning his house manners.  Oliver loves peanut butter filled kongs and prefers them over regular dog treats. He still hesitates taking anything out of your hands, but he’s learning treats are a wonderful yummy thing! Oliver has been on a few walks and his foster mom is super impressed at how well he does on leash, no pulling unless he sees that squirrel. He loves getting belly rubs and affection, but  in general is independent and will go in the other room for a snooze on occasion. He is not one to be called a “velcro” dog and is happy sleeping away the day without a care in the world. Oliver is adjusting very well to retirement. He’d be happiest in a home without cats or small dogs, but would do great with other medium-large sized dogs.  If Oliver seems like that perfect boy for you, contact us today!
