- Kennel Name: Rastro
- Registered Name: DKC Rastro
- DOB: 8/7/10
- not cat/small animal tolerant
- AG # 1678
Rastro is a light champaign fawn boy who is simply darling. His whole existence is to provide his family with laughs, love and affection and if he gets some in return, all the better. Rastro is a nut out in the deep snow, running and jumping like a wild child having the time of his life. He comes in panting with spit on his face almost smiling and then crashes on a dog bed for a bit before going out and doing it all over again. Rastro is the class clown who makes our household laugh all the time, from the funny way he tilts his head to look at us, to trying to fit into a dog bed not meant for a greyhound. This guy is just so dog-gone lovable and adorable, I can’t imagine any home he wouldn’t fit into, except a home with cats and tiny dogs. Rastro has great house manners and follows every rule to the letter, If you are looking to add to your laughter quotient and stay amused with his antics in the snow, Rastro might just be the guy your are looking for.
- Kennel Name: Mia
- DOB: approx. 10/13/10
- Not likely cat/small animal tolerant
- AG # 1532
Hi, my name is Mia! I am going to be 5 years old on February 24, 2015, and
I would love to have a forever family to celebrate my big day. My foster
mom says I have soulful eyes and can’t imagine anyone not falling in love
with me (like she has). She says I have a super sweet personality, I’m
very huggable and kissable, and calls me a velcro dog, whatever that
means. I don’t care, I just follow her everywhere. I adapt very quickly
to new situations and routines, and love adults and kids. My birthday
wishes are for a fenced yard to romp in, and an outgoing doggie playmate.
I do not like cats. While I could play all day long, I do enjoy chewing on
toys and love to take long leisurely naps and snuggling with my
humans and the Greyhounds in my foster home. At bedtime, I lie quietly on
my dog bed until everyone rises to start the day. I respond to basic
commands, and will impress you by sitting for treats and meals before you
even serve them. I know I will be a wonderful addition to the right
family. Is it yours?

- Kennel Name: Cam
- Registered Name: Jax Cameo
- DOB: 2/5/12
- small dog tolerant
- AG # 1692
Cam is a beautiful gal who graduated from the TGIE Program and started life in her foster home in Central Illinois on February 11th. She greeted her foster mom with kisses right off the bat and has fit in well with the resident male and female greyhounds as well as a cat and a small terrier mix too! She is getting comfortable with cuddling with her new buddy greys as she has settled in more and more here. She loves to romp around the fenced yard and has also had a TON of fun lure coursing! She is happy to chase a tennis ball or football and will often get the zoomies on her own. She and the resident male play pretty intensively while she and the resident female play a bit more casually. When inside, she is pretty low key but can get bored and as her TGIE journal notes, she seems to enjoy having lots of chew toy options; and she has been happily helping herself to the toy box since day 1. She is a wonderful gal for crating during bed and has been a healthy eater who is happy to enjoy her meal with no fuss, in her crate. She seems to be happy with some stuffed Kongs or similar toys while in her crate during times when her foster has to be gone for a bit. She has been a great house guest and is efficient with outdoor potties and is a joy to walk – even with her 2 foster sibling Greys; in fact, she is actually the most well-behaved walker of them all! Her handlers through the TGIE program sure seem to have done a wonderful job with her since she is well versed in her basic obedience and has been an outgoing gal with a happy tail since her arrival! Cam is definitely a very sweet and special gal and will be a wonderful, new addition for her lucky adopters! - AG # 1680
If you are looking for an experienced retired greyhound, Jamie is the girl for you. Jamie is an active 7 ½ year old and had been living the life of a retiree for several years when she was recently returned to American Greyhound when her owner passed away. In her foster home Jamie lives with another greyhound and two cats. Since she had already been living the retired life for several years Jamie has impeccable house manners, listens very well and has the skills to schmooze a treat. Jamie does fine on slippery floors and stairs and crates without too much trouble. Jamie is a big girl at 83 pounds and her foster family is working on helping her drop a few pounds. Jamie also has the cutest overbite and the sweetest gray face that you can’t help but fall in love with. Even though she is considered a senior dog, Jamie still loves to run and play outside and occasionally toss a stuffie around in the house. Please consider giving this sweet, orphaned, senior girl a new place to call home.
