Peng You was discovered inside a box at a floral market in China by a greyhound lover whose husband is temporarily working in China. She asked about his “price” and she returned the next day with enough money to purchase him. She and her greyhound network then put together a very impressive auction and raised enough money to cover the approximate $4000 cost to vet PengYou and then fly him to the United States. American Greyhound members were then at O’Hare to meet him when his plane landed and take him home. AG decided it would be helpful to send PengYou to the TGIE prison program. The men in the program had a great time with PengYou and his prison journal is full of funny stories of how people outside their program came to meet this little Chinese celebrity and how he “prances” differently than the racing greys that we all know and love. We don’t know much about the way PengYou was raised but what we do know is he loves female dogs but is not such a fan of male dogs or small animals. He knows his prison commands like a champ and “pray” is his favorite command as he will often do that one without being asked to. PengYou is smaller than the typical male greyhound as he is mixed with something else but this little guy has a lot of love to give, tho he is not a kisser. He loves little kids, he loves big kids and he just loves being with people in general. PengYou has great house manners, can do even steep steps like a boss, curls up into a tiny ball on a dog bed, likes his crate and does not appear to be afraid of thunderstorms. PengYou used to be apartment quiet but after living with a couple of barkers, he is no longer apartment quiet but he does not bark excessively. If you think you may appreciate this little guy and all he has gone through to end up in your home and heart, please inquire for more information.
